estonia homemade recumbent bike with center steering and front wheel drive super speed bike .Pictures of the bike in http://nagi.ee/photos/raftmant/sets/283031/
lamaratas ise tehtud keskpööramisega (arvatavasti esimene eestis) "python" nimega "Räige püss". Päris mugav on sõita muidu, ainult jalgadest kipub veri ära valguma mäest üles sõidul . Kokku kulus ratta loomisele umbes 6 kuud, kuni ta praeguse kuju sai, raskem osa oli sõitma õppimine, nüüd oskan juba päris normaalselt, kuid video on varasemast ajast. • Nice bike. I am considering building a python where the front wheel frame is attached to the seat frame and the back wheel swings right and left through a tube under the seat. The pivot would be at the front but the seat would ride left and right. You would have to have the center of gravity lower than the wheel centers and your handle bars would be attached to the rear wheel frame. When you turn to the left, your seat would move up and to the right, this would help maintaing center of gravity.

A really nice idea, i had the same thing in my mind when i had already cut all the pieces for the normal python, i evan made some drawings and it looked really cool, my plan was when you turn handle bars left then the bike turns left. Would love to see your bike getting ready and rideable. Have a lot of perseverance in building it, you will need it :) Also take a look at this video on youtube: Rear Wheel Steering Recumbent

  • @tiredfingers99 Anothere video on youtube that seems very similar to your description: Equi recumbent concept video.avi

  • Very nice bike.

Awaiting for You'rs tour with some touring load for a least 500kilometers :)))

    Road will TEST All

  • Nice to see another Python out there! Love the army colours! Check out my Python.

  • @nestofdragons Hi. Firstly i made the wheelbase smaller by bringing the back wheel closer(wheelbase is now 134cm), then the pivot angle was more than 70 degrees but i had it made adjustable so i adjusted it to about 68 degrees, then my legs didnt reach properly to the pedals, so i made the distance shorter. Meanwhile i raised the center of gravity and the pivot angel went smaller also, but the bike went nervous, so i adjusted it back. For more look from the pictures as is in the description

  • @raftmant Just curious. What were the changes you made? Angle of steeringaxle? Height of center of gravity? ...

  • @nestofdragons At the beginning it was fun, but not after a month of learning with no success i thought it is unrideable, then i made some changes as seen on video and was able to ride it. I am using mostly front break all the time and have`nt felt any problems with that.

  • I see you had also lots of fun with the Python-concept. Your bike looks OK. It is a challenge to handle, i know. Enjoy your long ride on it. Just watch out about hard braking at high speeds. Best use the brake of the rear wheel. That is what my experience told me.
