(Cut2Long) Beijing 2008. Some sports experts predict China for the first time will win the most medals in Olympic history. How are China's stars being manufactured by China's "sports factories?" How much fame and fortune can they enjoy in a communist state? And why are some champions leaving China to help athletes in other nations? Farland Chang tells the story of champions from past and present.

  • I dont know why some people always critize China's method of training is like a machine manufacturing. I think some people would really want this if they really want to be in the Olympics. I would really like it if they do that in the US. I would join the Winter games,

  • i dont know a single person or team that doesn't play to win. how does a person get better at what they do without busting their asses every single day????

  • 3:10 Deng Linlin has the same leotard...0.0 is that her? :D

  • They're talking about the system they went through. There are obviously places where you can learn for fun. But the national, the provincial teams, are hard core. You're not there to screw around.

  • They're so wrong about Liu Xiang. He is NOT a singer or movie star. record labels and companies discovered he had a good voice, and offered him, but he rejected all offers, cuz he was focused on his sport. He said he was an athlete, not an entertainer.

  • Well, I know I am.

  • yeah i mean the parents have a choice of whether to send their kids to training or not

  • The U.S are crapping themselves.

  • If you want to be champion, you need to start early.

Tiger wood was trained to play golf at 2 years old!

  • so what

  • Well...I is nice to see a video about China that is not hate speech.
