Would like everyone to know that TN leads the nation in tornado deaths with 112 between 2000 and 2010. MO is next with 70

@stymye I was there. Lived in the Cherry Creek Apts in Hermitage. The entire day was so scary. Tornado watches and warnings. I will never forget it.

my grandma talks about those trees all the time

It is a wonder that more people were not killed. There are some buildings that still have damage.

I was working at Lowe's doing delivery when this thing hit. Was caught on I-65. Crazy. Then later got to deliver materials to Titan's stadium. Drove out on what would become the field. Delievered to a lot of houses in East Nashville. Was a busy time, as well as upsetting and damaging.

I got caught right in the middle ..In hermitage
I saw a semi truck roll over and blow across the parking lot into Kroger. than it tore apart The Hermitage property and uprooted most of the of 150 yr old trees in it's path. I'll never forget it a very massive tornado
one of the scariest days of my life...

Yep. I don't know where that myth came from though. Nashville, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Oklahoma City, Memphis, and St. Louis - that's just a sample of major urban areas that have seen tornadoes in the last century or so.
