Joan Lawrence is a Western Canadian with a background in Sociology and group process: She is a mother of three who loves to get people talking to one another. Joan became involved in Family Life Education in the 60s and was a proponent of the Human Growth Movement. As an ardent feminist she was instrumental in establishing womens programs in the community.

A little more background:
Lawrence joined forces with Ely Raman (husband /partner) in 1982 to develop the OH Cards genre, and create a market for them. She has fostered the use of The OH Cards in all kinds of groups, from academia and social services to business.
Joan believed The OH Cards could be a force toward world peace, as they get people talking and listening to one another in a new way ....the OH Cards put you in touch with yourself and others ... if we could just get them out there. They are currently in 23 languages, thanks to collaboration with their German publisher.
