@MrSpartan083 i actually put those blades on a box fan motor and that GE motor i put on a big old lasko metal bladed box fan with a burnt out motor. the 1903 wagner would be way overkill for these blades, it has way more hp than i need to run them so it would be very inefficient. gotta match your load up to the proper size motor for max efficiency. belive it or not the boxfan motor works best for these blades!

it sure was! i took it apart and put the blades on an old boxfan motor as this motor was way overkill for these blades, and i put the ge motor on a big old boxfan with a dead motor on it.

Wow that sucker us powerful. :)

That's really cool! You should make a wooden box fan cabinet for it.

@LNERMallard i took the blades off for a differnt project and the motor i used to repower a 1950's boxfan with a dead motor. so it has a box now

Hmm.I just happen to have a 5 HP Baldor electric motor sitting in the corner of my fan cave, and i also have a 20+ inch wide model airplane prop.Gets me thinking.

@AcaAllertor127 5hp is way to big a motor for a 20" blade, so its not something you would really want to use because of its inefficiency. for a 20' blade my 1/6hp motor seems to work fine. the more hp you use to run a fan will not usually affect airflow at all unless the old motor was undersized for the blades in which case it could burn out.
