Going to college is not the same as getting an education. Great quote.

    hey it's my voice!

I love that someone mentioned learning everything (or 75%) from youtube, including how to cook. I believe youtube + wikipedia = more collected human knowledge than anywhere else in history.

This video has helped me out SO much. My Sociology professor showed this for a final. I am trying to figure out who I am and what I want to do. We don't have standardized testing where I go to college but I feel like I am limited by what I can do because of the over arching pressure to be successful.

As a student, I would have to say thank you for making this. It's something I've experienced myself and I'm glad that everyone featured in the video could 'speak up'.

The value of a college education will greatly depend on the career and position sought. A person becoming an accountant in a position less than management in a large company might not find as much value in spending thousands of dollars than say an astrophysicist. Then in some cases higher education is absolutely necessary, as in the case of medical careers. But to assume that everyone in every career choice will need the experience of college, as some believe, is absurd.

You get an education by traveling, reading a book, and having a job. Not college.

School and education are different things. Education is a lifelong process that isn't limited to an institution. Also, education is free. Give this comment a thumbs up if you agree.

the exchanging of ideas is not enough in a society which gives better job oppertunities to those that have 'on paper' studied. the stresses of college and university are what tell employers that we are up to the job. while i do agree with you to a certain extent, i feel that college and university will never be overrated whilst society gives better oppertunities to those that brave further education
