@Stephen013Flick Gilbert Broadway was an extraordinary Hairdresser! And Erica would not have been Erica without her Hairstyle. Fiona/Vera's Dual Hairstyle as we all know it was also very becoming! I have not been studing my dictionary for the last 15 years ever since the Internet age. I Forgot the name of the Pointy Hat Worn by European women of nobility! Also some Catholic Nuns wore Habits which resembled the Style.

@MsPerogi Did you notice Fiona/Vera's hairstyle started to mimic Patsy/Erica's as Fiona got closer to her own gov/ship? Some members of royal lines wear a crown... Erica used the power of the "Beehive". My original comment on this page was a total slam on all those "Old Aristocratic Types"..."When Queen Erica asks you to have tea, you sit down & have tea". You should also be aware I'm viewing episodes 250+ for the first time. I'm currently up to ep. 471 & I'm loosing my PCBH virginity.

@Stephen013Flick Old Aristocratic Types so true! If it had not been for Erica's mistakes the script writters would have had no plot to build the series on! Nevertheless it is true Erica would not have lasted as a Governor in real life! If anybody cannot see that by now they will understand this point by the end of next few episodes!

@MsPerogi I was happy to see her get her own gov/ship & wished they could of had a spin-off show with her & Bea at the other prison. But lets think about the times 79-86, there were still a lot of "old aristocracy types" in positions of power by virtue of the old rich peoples club taking care of it's own. Maybe Patsy King was just the image they wanted, maybe? I'm sorry I didn't even notice your use of real-life names because I'm so used to talking about the storyline. Peace.

@MsPerogi No doubt my friend, Fiona Spence was an amazing actress, & I do remember the kind, soft, loving, Vera. I always felt bad for her character outside the prison. First trying to love a tough never happy mum. Who never treated Vera with enough/any love or respect. Then the criminal boyfriend. I actually said out loud "God give this poor woman a break !". We don't need to discuss the scum-bag guard-boyfriend. Fiona's character seemed cursed to never be happy.

@Stephen013Flick I do so. What I really men't was that Fiona Spence would have been a Better Actress for the Part! If YOU watched the Series and studied every single episode as a true Cell block h Fan Should have; You would understand Vera's nice side. For instance Vera has substituted as Governor in one other episode to date: and if you saw that episode you would decide that Vera is quite capable of the duties as Governor. Its like Politicians They make a name for themselves!

@MsPerogi Do you really think so? As pompous as "Queen Erica" was she did believe the women could be reformed and rejoin society. As to where "Vera" a.k.a. "Vinegar-Tits" constantly calls the women "animals" & regularly shows her contempt for the women. If you are watching this series for the first time I would advise you to keep watching & let me know if you still feel the way you do now, later. Is it possible you have confused "Vera" with "Meg"? Enjoy the show my friend & no lagging.
