@RomeoReject23 Straight cut gears have nothing to do with engagement.
-
just tell people its supercharged :D

@dtimer04 you may already know this but most trannys use helical gear (angle cut) gears, which are not great at transmitting torque at high speeds but aren't noisy.
the gears in this tranny, spur gears (straight cut), are amazing at transmitting that high end torque but are very noisy and whiny a you see in videos.
but you are right, they are able to put out more power effectively

@dtimer04 Oh, right-o. Well, it's a sick car brother, enjoy it! =)

Straight cut gears Vs Helical gears is just a big argument. Helical is quiet, stronger, and really expensive.
Straight cut is cheap, easy and almost as strong. The ways we beat up on gears, only really hard clutch dumps are bad for straight cut gears, but that's why we make them stronger anyways.
sounds like somethins knocking

@mathyu0179123232 that's the camera. It does that in every video he has.

What gains did you get from doing this? Was it faster at the strip?

Unfortunately when I purchased the car the gears were straight cut. Based on my experience riding in other Modular GT's I would say it increases torque, but I don't have the numbers to prove it.

@dtimer04 You'd probably pick up a few tenths. Straights are usually designed to be lighter, and the shifts are instanteous, although I can't foresee the lack of side-loading increasing torque much, if at all.
And what do you mean "unfortunately"? That thing would be amazing at high speed! =D

@RomeoReject23 Thanks for your input! I guess what i meant by "unfortunately" is I didn't have the experience of driving the car before and after the gears were put in, so I am not qualified to know if there was a seat of the pants HP gain. You are right though at high speeds the car is deadly :0
