  • what's the name of the blood test. fibrosha? how is it spelled?

  • @Lynnmist FibroSURE check the video description for a link.

  • The cost of the FIBROSpect II test in most cases does not justify its use. If money was the motivation behind doing a liver biopsy, then why do charity hospitals, the VAMC's, and the like practice iver biopsies---because it is part of the gold standard practice for evaluation and determination for Hepatitis C treatment.

Remember, talk to your doctor about your situation and ask for a second opinion if you do not feel confident, but do not rule out biopsy altogether. I hope this helps.

  • @gingrgrl2 The reason he says it's about money is because the MDs are getting "finder fees" for pushing Biopsies and they don't get them for FibroSURE and there is a FibroSURE test available. Just Google FibroSURE and you'll find the FibroSURE test.

  • The blood test you are referring to is called-FIBROSpect II®. This lab test can be beneficial to some based on the results. The accuracy is scarring is only clinically significant for the upper and lower ranges and limits the amount of information needed to make a decision as to whether treatment is indicated in Hepatitis C cases. Liver biopsy remains the gold standard in care under national recommendations.

Automatic biopsy needles pose significantly less pain, most of the time no pain.

  • @gingrgrl2 well, actually he did say FibroSURE and there is a FibroSURE test available. Just Google FibroSURE and you'll find the FibroSURE test.

  • Yes, but UNLESS you are considering treatment there really is no need for biopsy...in MY OPINION.

  • Thank you so much

  • @Lloyd92368 Hi, Lloyd, thanks so much for your reply. I have an upcoming appt. with my hepatologist so I will push the Fibrosure test onto him. I have left a message on your channel. Unfortunately I didn't copy it and it was too long to be permitted. Ahhh, well. If you would be so kind enough to take a look at the watered down message I would be so grateful. Stephen. England. P.S. Thanks for all of your informative videos. They have really assisted me as I have changed to the natural remedies.

  • Fibro test , Acti test can give u the same results in most of the cases like liver biopsy

  • @ellycat Fibrosure has been used since 2003 and is the gold standard of treatment in Germany.

    Lloyd

  • I thought a liver biopsy was the only ACCURATE way of determining how inflamed your liver is? I was diagnosed with Hep C in 2000 had a biopsy in 2002 followed by the combo treatment of interferon and ribaviron (sp). It was the 26 week course but I had to stop after 3 weeks because it drove me insane. Now I visit my hepatologist for my LFTs and I also had an ultrasound done a couple of years ago. TBH I've not even bothered with my follow up appointments but this FibroSURE test sounds interesting.

  • oh wow...just wonderful - I go for a biopsy tomorrow morning!!

  • ive had 4 now over 15 years . here in the uk we dont pay anything as we have nhs we pay for our medical care viar tax on everything , so if its about money how can it be in the uk?
