Meth Mouth - dental training video

A dental hygienist and a dentist who has worked in the prison system describe the conditions that dental professionals may encounter in the mouths of their patients who may have used Meth.

Dental professionals also need to consider the safety of themselves and their staff (paranoia and violent outbursts), as well as their patients (interactions with medications and anesthesia, etc.) The video also raises these important issues.

Finally, the video also addresses the reality of abuse and neglect of children in homes where Meth is used, made or sold, and provides guidance to dental professionals on what to do if they know or suspect Meth use of a patient who they know to also parent, especially young children, including how and where to report suspected abuse and neglect cases.
