I'm curious where you get these numbers. Does the 25% rider to horse ratio carry through in a mature (8 years plus) horse, or are just talking about developing horses in training?

what is up with big dudes wanting to ride small or petite horses? I see alot of videos of that. why cant you find suitable horses for yourselves? a 3 year old is to young to be carrying such loads. in fact no one should ride a horse until at least 3 and only for intial training in a arena and not use horse for trails until the horse matures at age 4. and the weight should not exceed 25 percent of horse weight if horse is stocky, 20 % if light build.
