Fun sounds played on the Moog LP synthesizer, with effects using a Lexicon MX200.

  • I never get tired of your videos!

I'm thinking of getting an LP. Do you have any criticisms of the LP you'd care to share? Anything I should be wary of?

I have to admit the LP sound demos on the actual moog site were disappointing, but you make that baby sing!

  • @Puzzlegob The Moog LP has no effects on board, so it can sound rather dull as is. I use some reverb and delay effects in my demos that really juice up the sound (IMHO).

  • FYI-I am have been watching your videos a year and I want to thank U because watching them over and over has made me a better player-like having your own teacher. Do you have any blues scales you prefer to play on the moog - if you want that "groovy" sound that moog seems to be made for.

  • @realguy640 Thanks, glad you have enjoyed the videos. I just use the "standard" blues scale that everyone else uses, I am afraid...

  • Hello,i enjoy your videos ,whats the name of the preset at 1:23 love that sound kind of reminds me of Roger Powells lead sound from the 70s.Love the 70s synth sounds since Iam a prog head. Thanks J.T.

  • @MRSHORTFUSE100Thanks, sorry, don't know the name of the preset or even if it is one. This is a rather standard lead sound that most analog or VA synths can make. The Moog, with its filter, does it especially well.

  • @realguy640 let me jump in here: i own one. never has drifted out of tune in the 3 or so years i've had it, even if it did it has an auto-tune feature in one of the menus.

  • Which setting is that on 2:25 ?

  • I hear these can still drift out of tune- does letting it warm up and just put the auto-tune dial in the center do the trick?

thanks in advance for your always great advice.

  • very cool!

  • so you mean C, G, F sharp blues?

  • @keybdwizrd Thanks for the reply.I will keep watching your videos and enjoying them. Thanks J.T.
