I have built these type traps many times. I found that is you don't cover the coax with liquid electrical tape etc, the turns can move around and change the frequency of the trap. At that point they will really cause the antenna change SWR. I always used these in antennas that are coax fed and have a low swr when I am done " no tuner needed". Great traps, but do need to have something to keep the turns from moving till the epoxy, liquid tape etc sets up! Jimmy, ARRL TS, WX9DX
