OK. I'll check out pt 1. I wonder what the volunteers got out of it. Could they have been that desperate for a free haircut or to be seen on TV?

I think its bit of both. Some people might be adventurous OR carefree about hairstyle OR wanna give budding people an opportunity. Might be variety of reasons, depending upon the respective person.
