Movil I, composed by Harold Gramatges in 1969, is played here completely by heart and is a so-called aleatory piece of music. It includes parts that are fixed and parts that are improvised. From www.brittanica.com: In aleatory music aspects such as the ordering of a piece's sections, its rhythms, and even its pitches are decided at the moment of performance. When not purely improvising, players follow lists of arbitrary rules or interpreted "graphic" notation that merely suggest the sounds. Charles Ives and Henry Cowell had used such techniques, but John Cage became the principal figure in aleatory; other aleatory composers include Earle Brown (1926--2002), Morton Feldman (1926--87), and Pierre Boulez.
If the cameraman could just keep a little more still it would have been better.
It's a very evocative piece, but it doesn't matter to me if the piece is made up or played from a notated score. I had never heard of Gramatges before now, I like it!

Aleatoric Music isn't improvised music, but music created by chance, if he was blindfolded and dropped had his ears plugged, it would be Aleatoric :) IMO

Gramatges es un genio, no conozco muy bien su obra para piano pero en guitarra demuestra que sabe lo que hace. la interpretación es muy buena.

This also reminds me of George Crumb and Morton Feldman. Very interesting, I like it.

This was a very interesting video. I couldn't see a score, so either you have a phenomenal memory, or the piece is wholly or partly improvised - do let me know! Thanks for uploading it - YouTube is a superb platform for contemporary music.
