    Love this dance!!!! The days that people had talent! Love you Gene for such an electricfying dance this would have been really hard to make your alter ego!!!! But this is far out amazing!!!! :D

    I just attended a presentation by Gene's widow in NYC @ Lincoln Center on 7/21 and she showed this segment and explained how they did it. It was shot twice as a double exposure with MANUAL camera tracking by counting the musical beats. The camera was 500+ lbs. The 2nd take was shot with the set draped in black velvet. The leapfrog was done with a black pole where Gene's mark was in the 1st take. You can see it if you look closely.
