@soundseeker63 Thanks for the laugh though, I needed that. I need to show this to the guys at the shop. Sometimes some of the stuff guys say on here is so damn hilarious. I need to copy this and post it on our page. Thanks again. lol

@soundseeker63 Where are you looking this stuff up?!!! LMAO!!! It's almost kind of cute. This car is not stock, it has an aftermarket race ECU, a huge race turbo, racing head, racing cams, battery, it's pretty much a racecar already. This isn't a normal stock car, so everything you keep saying is irrelevant. It doens't pertain to this car, that's what I'm trying to tell you. It was built by AMS, the only difference than the drag car from AMS is the lightweight body that AMS has.

@soundseeker63 reading which will clearly cause it to run inefficiently and possibly cause engine damage by running to rich/lean, possible predetonation, over/under boosting etc, pluss horrible fuel consumption and high emissions. Judging by the black smoke on acceleration at 0:24 it is obviously running far too rich. You are then breathing in these fumes which have not gone through the cat either so are more toxic. But you knew that already. So please, keep on gassing yourself!

@octavioveliz means it needs to have a modicum of fuel efficiency, emission regulation, reliability and consistent performance in varying climates to make it safe and road legal.
The ECU is set up to achieve this by monitoring the intake air, fuel, and exhaust etc to ensure the injector duration and timing, spark timing, turbo boost etc are all at optimum setting. If you remove any one of those inputs into the ECU it will either go into safe mode, or try to operate to inaccurate

@octavioveliz I never questioned why the exhaust was off. I only said I think it is unwise to drive it around like that. Which it is. Nor did I say anything about it making it slower or faster. Just that the engine wouldn't run at optimum efficiency. Which it wouldn't. And here's why. Yes I am well aware that turbo drag cars have no exhaust after the turbo. But their whole engine control system is designed to work that way. Yours is a road car engine, not a dragster engine which...
-
@soundseeker63 First off, if you would just bother to read the description you would realize why the exhaust is off. Second, if you did know about these cars, then you would know that without the exhaust the power is a huge increase. The boost is almost instant and the response is much more quicker off the line because of the huge turbo. That is why when you see turbo charged cars at the drag strip have no exhaust. But you probably know this already since you know so much about cars.

if i were you i would have removed exhaust anyhow man... no back pressure on the turbo= easier spool... easily gain some more jump at the line.... with that evo possibly even more responce upon down shift...
any headers? or just open block?

@octavioveliz No not "trying to sound intelligent." Just stating the obvious. Because of course you're the only person in the world who knows anything about cars, right? lol
And anyway its not like I was complaining. Its not me thats going to get carbon monoxide poisoning from driving around breathing my own exhaust fumes or risk setting fire to my engine bay to make a loud noise. But clearly as you are so smart and so cool you though of ways to get around that.
-
that sounds so good on boost

@soundseeker63 I love it when I hear someone try and sound intelligent that has no idea what he's really talking about. You really should do your research in turbo charged cars before you try to sound like a moron. And censor is spelled sensor, but I'm sure you already knew that since you know so much about turbo charged cars.
@humanstrain1 Are you serious?! Lmao, where do you guys come up with this stuff? It's so damn funny now. Turbo cars benefit from no back pressure, especially since the exhaust has to push against the heavy blades of the turbo. The response on the turbo is so noticeable that some of us wish we could drive around all day like this. My friend went from running 12s to 11s just by removing his exhaust if that's a simple enough answer for you.

@yourefuckingdumb You are so confused. First off, this neighborhood is all military. Also, most of them in the neighborhood drive loud V8 muscle cars, Harley Davidsons, loud diesel 4x4 trucks, or whatever kind of toys they have. And third, I live down the street from a dirt circle track. So every weekend you hear the loud roar of these cars driving in a circle. Oh and I forgot about the Army helicopters that always fly over head. So I think it's safe to say Joe Smith is okay.
