Ok i created this account right now to address this video. This is perfect example of somebody whos tryin to go right aganist what Jesus taught. Galatians 2:21, matthew 28:19 and 20. These are the verses many legalist nutjobs try to ignore. there isn't any reason why christian rap should be condemn. It's no different then people writting hymns or anything. People want to help others come to Christ. People who love Jesus rap to help minister to people.
Look at Lacrae's logo it looks like 666 also what is the number 116 represent? I'm sure they have some form of deceitful explanation. But what is 1x6=? These guys are known to have calvinist terminology which are the modern day pharisees and gnostics believing that our merciful loving God is both good and evil (duality). rappers represent themselves & that which is of the world. You can certainly rap and be holy as the scripture says. No, we shouldn't look or rap like the world, but just because it's not what u or others think it should be doesn't make it not of God. Have you even listened to Christian rap? If so, who have you listened to? Because those who I listen to rep Christ & to the fullest at that in their songs. Be Blessed.
danced out of his clothes (2 Sam. 6:14-22). Second loop hole. You said it yourself. We are a peculiar people doc. What does peculiar mean? You should look it up. In a nutshell, it means we're different. So that would mean some of the things we do are gonna be a lil "different", "peculiar". Third loop hole. You said be holy which means to be set apart right? Well, the difference between a Christian rapper & a secular rapper is that a Christian rapper represents Christ in his/her lyrics. Secular
Oh, & let me point out quite a few loop holes in your comment @MegaMindFrame while I'm at it. First, you described what "rap" is: "Rap has alway been hard,hate-filled,self glorifying, or degrading in some way". First of all, "Secular" rap is what u just described. Christian rap is NOT self glorifying, degrading, nor hate-filled. Yes, Christian rap is radical. Maybe a lil more radical than some. However, that's like saying it's bad to give God a radical praise. David danced so radically that he
However, he also went seeking the lost sheep and because he did so, he was persecuted for doing so. Back then, it was basically not cool for those who were clean to touch those who were unclean. Jesus ministered to everyone, however, if you pay attention, He didn't surround Himself around those who knew, but those who did not know. He did unorthodox things to bring those who were ingorant of the gospel into the Kingdom. So, if Jesus can use unorthodox ways to bring the lost in, why can't we?
will use unconvetional ways to bring lost sheep into the Kingdom. You can't stay in one place and expect the same result for yrs n yrs n yrs. No. A lot of the old ways of bringing the word to most ppl now these days will not work. If you check it out in the word, Paul began to preach and take the word to the Gentiles & those who did NOT know about Jesus Christ and the gospel. Yes, he did write letters to the churches, but to edify them so they wouldn't stay stuck in one place spiritually.
