3 diferent bikes:
An Electric MX bicycle with around 1kw power, a 4kw 4stroke bike made with bicycle components and a standard mountainbike show their strenghts and weaknesses.
Filmed on the Pachacamac trails&hills and at the Miraflores BMX track, Lima-Peru.
The e-bike has a 400W nominal(approx. 1500W peak) brushless Kollmorgen motor running at 24V with 14Ah SLA batteries and has on the video just a fixed gear transmission (all this upgradable to Lithium, etc.).
The 4 stroke has 4KW (5.33 hp) and a 4 speed transmission
The mountain bike is a very lightweight Proflex trail/mountain bike.
I guess, what I want to point out is that reality checks are needed and what is certain is that most ebikes are compared on the basis of their electrical proveness and people forget about the bike design & components that can be as critical. The gas bike climbed better with 4kw, but the ebike was more fun on jumps and turns mainly because of the bike itself, better suspension, attention to things like head angle and rake: The change from 20"front wheel to 24"made a huge difference on the ease of keeping the bike under control on jumps and going downhill, because it changed the head angle and rake.
The Fox Airshoxs also worked better than expected.

  • Here in Lima-Peru most of our electricity comes from Hydroelectric power from the huge drop the Andes offer. 15,000ft to ocean level in no time. But the main problem we might face is that the glaciers that feed the rivers that feed the hydrolectrics(with ZERO Emissions)...might run out of ice because of Global Warming caused by other countries Coal,Gas,Oil dependant powerplants.

    Emissions:

    USA#1 = 5,762 kton CO2

    China#2 = 3,473 kton

    Russia#3 = 1,540 kton

    Peru#67= 28 kton

  • where can I find this one on 0:22?

  • @laxwork

    The gasbike on 0:22

Since that video suspension has been upgraded with more rear & front wheel travel. A good trails bike that now accepts a bit more agressive track riding. We might build more of them

We know of downhill rides here in the Peruvian Andes that go from 10,000 ft down to ocean level; and others not so demanding but still lots of fun.

Electric offered as an ecofriendly option on some bikes as well.

We might offer some guided tours.

Please let us know if interested.

  • hey whats the electric bike called??? because i really want a pedal operated one but i dont know the name

  • @iluvslash11

It is in development and will have a name once the finished product is ready.

For now you can call it an SVF MX e-Bike in the works.

And please use always a Helmet... 99.99% of the time I do.
