Please excuse intonation--my camera flattens all sound by practically a quarter-step or a third-step so it sounds yucky.

It was open mic night tonight, and Caitlin (bodhran), Lauren (left fiddle), and I (right fiddle) were practicing behind our local coffee shop just before we were supposed to go on. We were working out the bugs in our set, so please excuse our mistakes. The songs are a Québécois march and two reels. The march is called "La Grande Étang," the first reel is "Dancing Bear," and the second reel is "Maggie's Pancakes."

  • You mean the march? It's called "La Grande Étang," or "The Big Pond." The second is "Dancing Bear," and the third is "Maggie's Pancakes."

    Thank you!

  • You sound great! Keep on the good work!

  • Wow, you guys are amazing. Is there sheet music for these pieces, or is my best bet to learn them from the video?

Thanks for sharing this. I'm a classical violinist, but I'm also really interested in fiddling.

  • Makes me want to listen to some Mes Aieux.
