Wahey!! My first DIY! It's a stylish skirt that can be worn day or night, with a body con skirt, leggings or body suit underneath! A LOOKBOOK featuring the skirt will be uploaded tomorrow! :D

Let me know what you think! :)

*NB* Pleats tend to come off materials like these easily, that's not to say that you can't Iron them in again! You can always Iron them in using starch to make them stay in longer!

What you need...
2m Wide Fabric (Prices vary with Fabric and Store but usually between £4 & £10 per metre)
Elastic band
Thread & Needle
Sewing Machine (Optional)
Measuring Tape
Scissors
Pins
Iron

Make & Model of my Sewing Machine
Janome Model 7025

What I'm wearing..

Playsuit : Vintage (c/o Mallai.com)
Chain Necklace : Primark
Rings : Topshop

Nail Polish : Filthy Gorgeous i-Jay

Eyes : MAC Amber Lights & Carbon
Lips : Sleek Peaches & Cream Lipstick and MAC Mimmy Lipgloss

  • hi :) I was looking through the questions you have answered and I'm hoping Im not repeating this question but, I love the bow on the back of your pink skirt and I would love to know how you did it. Did you sew it on your skirt or is it another piece you made? How ever you did I love it :) and I want it lol ~thanks in advance~

  • @AhdayahAhdawan It's left over fabric tied into a bow! x

  • *UPDATE*

The skirt has been washed (hand washed in cool water) and hung to drip-dry (no wringing).

Pleats stayed in, just a few that needed to be ironed back for a crisper look!

    xoxo

  • where did you get your fabrics from?

  • @littlestvoicexx I buy mine from a Fabric Store in Town or John Lewis for about £4-£10 per metre! x

  • I think the skirt is lovely but its a little transparent, I think. Do you put something on under need it? I want to sew a darker fabric under need it what fabric can I use?

  • @BabeEli3 You can wear a body con skirt, body suit or leggings underneath. x

  • I saw the EXACT same dress for about 500 $, and making this own cost me 8,50 :p

  • i ABSOLUTELY ADORE this!! <3 thank you soo much! I'm so excited to buy the fabric and start making this myself, hehe you definitely earned my subscription! keep making great videos <3

  • i JUST finished making it!! it looks amazing! thank you soooooo MUCH! <3

  • Awww this is so pretty. Ive been meaning to make a skirt but havent had any new ideas but your video really helped me and its so classy! Thanks a lot :)

  • Oh wow thanks, I was going through videos on youtube to find a tutorial on making a high-waste skirt with an elastic band, and this was just what i needed :)

  • thank you! i think i may actually use this to make my wedding dress in the future. my betsey johnson prom dress from years ago was like a cocktail length version of my ideal bridal gown and i've been trying to find a way to make my own version of it, it has a pleated chiffon skirt/bottom just like this. i feel way less stressed now about pleating a fabric like chiffon. can't thank you enough!

  • great job, loved it. thanks!

  • The picture at beginning of video is SUCH an adorable way of wearing sheer skirts. I'm trying to make a shorter version of that silhouette after finding scattered star print chiffon identical to what D&G used this season on Ebay. Chiffon is not a fabric I've used before, and am slightly intimidated working with such a fine material, but this tutorial really helps show how to go about things. Thanks for taking a bit of the mystery out of it.

  • I love your accent. I accidently clicked your video but I'm glad i did. For some reason I have the urge to drink tea all of a sudden
