  • When I first started going to A.A. I had an EPIPHANY when I heard this song and so EXCITED to hear a famous person sing about A.A. Knowing he was sober (at this time) made sobriety all seem so real and worth it! This song played a big part in my sobriety!!!

  • My husband got sober after 20 years of hard drinking. We went through the whole gamut of his DTs, seizures, fights, loss of work, driving while drinking, etc... you name it, we painfully went through it all. He's sober for many years now. Who I thought was a weak man proved to be an extremely strong man. It's a lot for both of us to fix what still needs fixing, but changing that "learned behavior" on both of our parts, forgiveness, patience, trust...he's worth it.

  • @babyjadeisha Amen brother.

  • this song i dedicate to my son dennis wayne for changing and saving my life. I am a different person and i have 4years clean

  • @73161rk CONGRATS UR HUSBAND IS A LUCKY MAN WISH U GUYS THE BEST THATS WONDERFUL U STOOD BY HIS SIDE WISH THERE WAS MORE WOMEN LIKE THAT

  • @Jackbskelly, I fought with this when my ex-fiance left me for the third time (granted, after the second time, I should have seen the issue with she and I) and rather than drink then go to AA, I went there first. I'd never had a "problem" before that, but went to cut it off before it became one. I don't think I've got either the chemical or psychological addiction, but I know that when I drink I think past pain. That said, I will keep you in my prayers, daily!

  • Still deal with my sobreity on a daily basis it's hard to get clean and stay clean and being in the military makes it even harder. I still haven't kicked the habit but when i'm down this song rings me through another day/night.

  • @TheKatieoronoz thank you

  • @MrPsychosocialdad thank you

  • @TheDallas84 Feelings aren't facts, keep going to the meetings and listening to the similaritities and soon you'll hear your own story being told by a complete stranger. Don't give up to soon, I promise it will get better..

  • My dad always drank. He was never around to see my basketball or baseball games, always at the bar or even the local applebees drunk. I told myself at the age of 9 that I would never get to that point of neglecting my children. Now I'm 28 and I have 2 kids and haven't touched a beer or shot EVER. Alcohol destroys lives and this song hits home and has since I was 14.

  • @TheDallas84 find a meeting near you i used to feel ,the same way but guess what we all fall down and screw up ,my addiction cost me one marriage and almost cost me the one i m in now ,the meetings really help noone will judge you because we've all been there and theres alot of good folks who've been where youre at now,and once you go and here others share their story ,you ll see youre not alone .recovery doesnt happen overnight you have to work at it ,but trust me its so worth it.
