Episode 11 The Beginning 2/6

"I'd confessed that I love her more than my bestfriend. And that's all you have to hear."

"Fine. It's none of my business after all." He flashed a very understanding smile. "Im just glad you did. Demi's an awesome girl. And she's the bestfriend of my girl." He patted my head as soon as a color of red covered his cheeks. "That makes sense."

"Yes, I know." I hissed. "And Im so desperate. I dont think I can live without her."

"Wow." He chuckled. "Now you're not only the cute and funny one. You're the cute, funny and desperate-for-Demi one, huh?"

"Funny." I said sarcastically.

"So what's the deal? Why are you depressed? Aren't you two together by now?" He ignored my sarcasm, throwing me tons of simple but difficult questions.

"She has a.."--I cringed in pain--"boyfriend."

Nick's mouth dropped. "What the hell?!"

"I agree. That's hell." I said tonelessly and glumly.

"Im sorry, man." He tapped my shoulders, comforting me.

"I have no idea what to do.. Im so down, I dont think my mind works normally now."

"But she said she loves you, right?" He raised one eyebrow. "Just hold on to that thought, Joe. Believe her. Let her explain, give her your time."

"I'll give her my everything." I agreed.

He nodded. "Everything's going to be alright."

I felt the car slowing down. "I guess we're here." Then the car stopped.

"Finally!" Nick beamed out loud.

Kevin woke up again. Startled. "Can you please stop shouting?"

"We're already here, bigbro!" Nick ignored Kevin's chagrin.

It's Las Vegas, baby!" I played along with Nick, laughing.

The door at Nick's side opened. We got off and headed to the dressing room.

...

Settings: Jonas dressing room; Backstage; MGM Grand; Las Vegas

The rehearsals were exhausting and Im still depressed. Im not in the mood, the others were starting to take notice and blame the inconveniece to me.

I ran inside our dressing room before I could catch bunch of moralism. I sat down on the sofa and sighed heavily. What am I suppose to do now? Demi would be here in an hour, I have no idea actually, and Im still carrying the load of emotions I couldn't just disregard on purpose. Im not even sure if Im loathing somebody right now.

"Joe, open up." Kevin's furious voice from outside and heavy knockings startled me. I'd locked the door?

I stood up and hurried to open the door. "What's up?" I managed to flash a smile.

"Demi's here."

For a second, I didn't blink, inhaled oxygen or even moved an inch. I stood, again, frostbitten.

"She's in her dressing room." Kevin continued with a smooth, kind voice. "I know what's happening, Joe. Get the hell out of this room and talk to her."

I gulped, as far as I could comprehend the situation, that was the first move I did, without breathing, actually.

"Breath, Joe!"

I got suprised and frightened at his voice.

"Geez, man. What's wrong with you?" He asked with chagrin.

"I-Im S-sor-rry." I stuttered, feeling numb. I started to breath.

"Ugh! Talk to her already!" He's so pissed.

I didn't waste any second to speak back. I hurried to her dressing room and knocked the door.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Im so so sorry." I exhaled the second I saw the door opened. I could smell her sweet scent from the flow of heated air that blew toward me.

She looked up at me, surprised, worried? But that didn't distract me. I looked deeper at the sight. Her eyes, her lips, her hair, everything.. Exquisitely beautiful.

"Joe." She gave me a very long glance. She didn't blink. "Come in."

She turned around and walked forward, leaving the door open for me. In that instant, I paced forward to enter the room, closing the door behind me. I looked around and saw Dallas, gazing back at me.

"Hi Joe!" She beamed.

"Hey there, Dallas."

I saw Demi sat down at one of the sofas and glanced at her sister.

"Oh. Yeah, I forgot something. I'll be back in a few, Dem." Dallas hurried to the door then turned quickly to Demi. "I'll get mom, ok?!"

I looked back at Demi and saw her nodded. For a second, I heard the door closed. Then what? I sighed.

"Sit." Demi broke the silence with a kind voice.

At first I hesistated. It was the first time I felt intimidated when she's around. She's a goddess, and Im one of her slaves. But I have to hear her explanation. So I walked sluggishly forward to sit sit next to her.

She cleared her throat. "Why were you sorry?"

I gulped then sighed. "I just felt guilty for meddling into your relationship."
