Just thought I'd show how I'm filling up the aquarium now.. Honestly, everyone with an aquarium should do it this way.. Much Easier!

  • That is superb. =) Is that the same as a python syphon?

  • @k9sabian Fraid not my friend python syphon wastes water I use it all and I pay for every gallon. Python syphon is designed to be used straight from the tap/faucet. Can't do that here in UK they add a lot of stuff randomly to the tapwater so got to be careful. it's a nice gadget though, if I lived where water came perfect on tap I would buy one ..! :)

  • why do you change your water so often?

  • @mikeofmouse Well mike, I always did it that way reckoning it was better to get a big job done in a short time so, I did large water changes at well spaced times. However lately I have started doing small water changes (2 Gallon per day for a 54 gallon tank..) and have found this to be a more appropriate way to do things as I live in a flat and the whole process is easier. I still do a half tank change but much less frequent. Remember fish convert water to urine 24/7 so theres my reasoning.

  • nice tank! I love your plants!

  • @membermanco Ah membermanco yes I have been lucky with them, I use dry ferts to feed them and add small ammounts on a regular basis.

  • Nice idea!

  • Great idea! That tank is amazing. Looking at a Studio 600. The only thing I don't like about their bigger tanks is the plastic tabs holding the light strip.

    Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

  • Vado Where are you buddy!! :(

  • When I own a house and someday have a big old tank I am definitely going to set up a water change system like that. I currently use one of the ones that connect right to the tap. Your way is much more environmentally friendly though. Kudos.

  • @ToYxRIPP3R Many thanks ToYxRIPP3R, it's a useful little setup that works well for my conditions. :)
