Newspaper printers talk about their craft in this promo for our in-progress video. We began filming more than a decade ago in an effort to document the changes that have made this storied craft obsolete. This clip is circa 2000.

New Year's Eve, 1999, was a great night for filming, in that we had staffed up for the end of the world as we knew it. But nothing much happened except for a lot of parties. ... The treats in the newsroom were pretty good, too.
