This video shows the method I developed to flute the ribs on my RV12 experimental airplane kit. The result was a simple, quick, and repeatable method that got rid of the frustrations I was having when I first started. I use the normal fluting pliers, a pair of conventional pliers, a flat workbench, and a magic marker to do the fluting. The advantage is that the process starts at one end and progressively flutes the rib from one end to the other. This was much better for me that using random "a little her, a little there". I can now flute a whole rib quickly and predictably. I hope you enjoy watching.

The shame is as expensive as they run you would think all that would already be done for you.

Nicely done! This is the first time I've seen the fluting process described as a process. Even the RV builders at my airport couldn't tell me /how/ to do it even though they've fluted complete RVs. Vans Aircraft should take note and update the construction manual. Thanks.
