This is a clip from a show looking at how the News Media (in this case the BBC newsroom) has modernised and isd being 'taken over' by the technology of the day.
An interesting look at how technology was in 1988. I was still at school then, it did seem like it was really high-tech!
Some of you will never have seen such computers and primitive technology before I bet!!

I love how the voice-over comments about how it is so much better than the days that went before...then they show you how backward it all used to seem before they had the 'modern technology'.
This machine now does the job of all those in the past...etc.
I wonder if they imagined that the whole of their newsroom could now be run on a single CPU and couple of Gb of RAM.
I don't mean that's all they need I just mean the power of the processors etc as compared to now.

  • Yes me too, great aren't they. Somehow they always manage to get it wrong...but they still keep making shows that predict how technology will change the world in the next few decades...only to be proved wrong again!
