@retro7018 I can definitely see how you would feel that he had peaked and its probably because you're a metal fan. Metal is typically a fairly technical genera that is, in my opinion, emotional shallow. Jimmi was moving towards blues at the end of his life which is fueled by emotion less than it is by technical skill. Don't misunderstand, i am fond of metal, and it definitely CAN have emotional depth, just like the blues guitar can be complex. But usually it is how i said before.

honestly, I respect jimi but, never got that into his music though, grew up on hard rock of the 70's & metal.Dead or, alive, I think he peaked & wouldn't have set the world a blaze as people feel, what more could he really do, go into classical mix like others have..... like many players, his best chops were likely behind him. Blast jimi? sorry, he may be your God, notmine....

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! There is footage from the Berkeley show? And where is it?

what live version of red house is that at :20? where is he at?
Jimi Hendrix has this odd sound of simultaneously sounding like he has no idea what he's doing while also somehow knowing better than anyone else who ever picked up the instrument.
