Why do they have us memorize all this shit. Some of it is just not real world nursing. If I'm working a crazy unit with monitors & alarms going off, people coding, colostomies exploding, meds & orders galore, scary lab results, people bleeding, obstructed, fractured up & tied up, some of the memorized facts seem so useless. Granted, most of what I learned for the NCLEX & nursing school is essential to know, it seems a portion of it highly lacks in usefulenss for every day practice.
