Gene Puerling founded this close-harmony vocal group in 1953, and they remained a fixture on the jazz/pop scene throughout the rest of that decade into the early 60's. They were the resident vocal group for Rosemary Clooney on her tv show in the 50's, and also quite often appeared with Nat King Cole on his. The Hi-Lo's quite often sang a capella and always with bright, unusual arrangements.
My favorite male vocal group! I was raised on their music....listened to them, consistently. The only group that even comes close to their incredible voices, and beautiful and unique harmonies, are "Take Six"....whose members admit to emulating them. My mom bought their first album "Suddenly It's the Hi Los", when it hit the stores. I would listen to it, for hours at a time.

What a great arrangement! Listen to the "chills run up and down" and marvel at the genius of Gene Puerling! Thanks for putting this online. Beautiful!
