  • Never use plastic near high temperatures or fire!!! It will let off toxic fumes!!! I knew this already as a child in Scandinavia! You do not need to be Native American to understand pure common sense. I cannot believe how stupid white Americans can be.

  • @TheDraeStar interesting thought. This sweat was lead by Angaangaq, a Greenland first nations elder. Do you have suggestions as per proper covering material that can be used in remote locations?

  • @toddlesbycanoe Wool blankets canvas tarps from old army tents (harder to get these days) quilts whatever.

  • u r all full of shit i am an oglala lakota and this funny as hell

  • Well, I have never been in sweat lodge...just a sauna a few times, that is how we do it in Europe. I guess that a lot of animal hides or blankets of wool (never synthetic...like plastic...this will let of toxic fumes), pure silk or flax all those materials can stand heat and will keep a light rain out. If you are not living on a reservation and in the "white" society...why not go for a sauna instead ? Some spas have them.

  • Also I feel bad for those people that died in that sweat lodge with that "Motivational Speaker" James Arthur Ray.

  • Called Hot steam or Steam bath...where i'm from in Alaska....Elder's Love it.
