Such clear thinking and common sense! Win for the kids, win for the society. It is possible to turn the tide on the obesity epidemic, to get more oxygen into kids' brains, and to reduce the climate changing pollution from automobile transportation to school. Let's do it.
Except beaureaucrats far away choose where the routes go without visiting the sites, or doing a feasability study. My dad's property is destroyed; mature trees ripped up to make a 10 ft wide path for 1 BLOCK & must cross 2 intersections, & 1 blind driveway from an apartment complex. Safety? Stupid, arbitrary, & destructive. Dad is crushed; his property is ruined. There was little traffic on our corner & never an accident. City council doesn't care. They'll probably overbid & get kickbacks

I wish I had had this for school. I lived a mile away and my school didn't even have bike racks :(
