1:23 sounds like the end of my novel! I'm writing a novel where the focus is the protagonist's self worth and how his happiness doesn't depend on being in a romantic relationship. However, he does meet a new woman in the middle of the book and I touch up on their development as a couple, but never ever say if they hook up or not at the end.
