IRISH ROVERS Sell Out with medleys of popular American-Irish songs sung by Sandra Beech (Will & George's sister, a Toronto children's entertainer & Juno winner), Dennis Day (had his own TV series, and was also US comedian Jack Benny's sidekick), actor/performer Shay Duffin ... and the Five Paddies? These generally were songs the Rovers would never sing on their shows, but letters relentlessly requesting them resulted in a segment of Sell Out, a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation SuperSpecial in 1977 taped in Vancouver. Classic songs include: Great Day for the Irish, Come into the Parlour, Dear Od Donegal, Phil the Fluter's Ball, McNamara's Band, Galway Bay, Same Old Shjllelagh, Harrigan, My Wild Irish Rose, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, and Paddy MaGinty's Goat.

  • Extras hired for the occasion.

  • Wilcil McDowell was the 5th member of the Irish Rovers. Bob O'Donovan was just a temporary member and performed as one of the 5 Paddies as Wilcil doesn't sing.

  • Thanks ST40TV. I knew Wilcil didn't sing. I've also noticed he does occasionally lip sync to songs.
