Hey this is not the South Indian drum Mridangam.... this is something else
-
omg alot of his strokes are not the actual types..... modernized ....... westernized.... zz
-
in addition to the madal being higher pitched and smaller than the mridangam and being Nepali, there are also fewer strokes you can play on it. however, i saw a tabla master give a demonstration on the madal and there is still quite a lot that little drum can do!

that drum is from Nepal

"out" of "this" "world"

Its a madal from Nepal not to be confused with the Indian drum mridangam. The madal seems to have a higher tone for the treble than the mridangam plus its the madal is smaller in size which gives its higher pitch.

That percussion is from Nepal it's called "MADAL", and it's my 1st time to see percussionist other than Nepalese playing it on the stage, though he isn't playing in a conventional way but he still sound good.
