  • Its a madal from Nepal not to be confused with the Indian drum mridangam. The madal seems to have a higher tone for the treble than the mridangam plus its the madal is smaller in size which gives its higher pitch.

  • That percussion is from Nepal it's called "MADAL", and it's my 1st time to see percussionist other than Nepalese playing it on the stage, though he isn't playing in a conventional way but he still sound good.

  • khttam jhur patas yesto jabo pani bajaune ho chor sala

  • Hey this is not the South Indian drum Mridangam.... this is something else

  • omg alot of his strokes are not the actual types..... modernized ....... westernized.... zz

  • in addition to the madal being higher pitched and smaller than the mridangam and being Nepali, there are also fewer strokes you can play on it. however, i saw a tabla master give a demonstration on the madal and there is still quite a lot that little drum can do!

  • that drum is from Nepal

  • "out" of "this" "world"

    thanks, universalart

  • naaaaaaaa!
