@BizkitBoii dont worry i fixed it, the ribbon cable inside the blu ray wasnt in. the blu ray drive doesnt function properly

i have baught this ps3 from my friend, for dirt cheap because i knew there was something wrong with the blu ray drive, but now im stating to think different, is it the blu ray drive thats broken or the ribbon cable.

if you break the clip that holds the ribbon cable cut a piece of a business card and slide it in to keep pressure on it.

So the error does not let you to continue to play games??? It happens to my Wii too, when I make the system update, then it show the error 003 because some software in my wii is unauthorized. . I can't play my fucking nintendo Wii anymore. . Waste of money. . So the moral of the story, don't update anything to your gaming console. . the end

Do you have any advice for those of us who broke the little black clip which would normally hold the ribbon cable to the motherboard? =(

@modete2- Try booting to the PS3 Recovery Menu (for space saving reasons, you can find it on Google easily), and going through the options listed there, one at a time. Worst case scenario, you have to format your hard drive (the last option in the menu), and start all over from day 1. There are options before that that may repair your corrupted data, bad mood, and generally unpleasant disposition of the PS3. Once you get a good boot-up and read of your disc, stop. Your PS3 is fixed. Play!

@sleeper0789 I actually used to work for Sony, at Sony Online Entertainment. Saw the PS3 a full year before it came out. Had my FATBOY 80GB since May 2006.
