The news ticker(?spelling) was just like real life, full of unimportant crap. I love how the ticker, combined with the footage fulfills its intended statement of the blind unquestioning mindlessness of so many people. And that we've (humans) really not changed much at all, we just have better technology and glocal- & global-isation now.
We're exactly the same, yet more arrogant than ever, hence our adamant denial of the shite situation we've created.

lennon didn't sound sinister when he sang it originally, and i've heard a number of sinister sounding voices which didn't have english accents.
