Retrospective documentary film intercuts vintage footage with recent interviews & performances in a compelling then-and-now portrait of roots rocker Dexter Romweber, whose original band the Flat Duo Jets was one of the most influential bands of the last two decades and has been an inspiration for many other musicians from Cat Power to the Rev. Horton Heat. Jack White, Chan Marshall and Neko Case appear in the film, along with Exene Cervenka and Jason Edge of the Original Sinners. **Premiere**

  • So when the hell is this documentary going to be for sale? I thought the whole point of production companies was to make films to sell them. Someone is losing money by not taking mine in exchange for a copy of this.

  • anyone know what chords he is playing?

  • @max0115 g c and d but im not sure in what exact order

  • My god, the first like 20 seconds All I could think of was Johnny Cash's Sun records....VERY similar sound. I love it!

  • @tommyrock69 Right on... I was beginning to think Athens, Georgia... what kind of fuckery is this!?

  • this never gets old! check my band!

  • Whoa Whoa Whoa! Although Dexter was born in Indiana, he was raised in North Carolina. The Romwebers are a North Carolina phenomena.

Let's not rewrite history here. Just because he and the Jets were on "Athens, Ga Inside Out" don't assume he's from there. Dexter made his name in Chapel Hill, NC. If you disagree, then ask me. I'm an old man like Dexter and I played with him back in the 80s.

He's from CHAPEL HILL, better yet, CARBORRO, NORTH CAROLINA. Get yer facts straight, man.

  • Thank you Jack White. Like the music-recommending big brother I never had.

  • Just barely found out about these guys, and, this is amazing.
