Awesome April Fool's Joke! ^_^ I really do hope that one day a copy of "London After Midnight" can be found. I heard there was a private collector in Canada who has a copy... But until that day, we'll all have to be satisfied with "Mark of the Vampire", which was a remake of sorts of "London" starring Béla Lugosi

I've seen the pieces of still photos that Turner Movie Classics put together and it was pretty good, but nothing to what that the actual film woulod be.We can only hope a copy will turn up someday.Lon Chaney's makeup work is as good if not better than some of todays film makeups.

@TwilightWander What about the reconstruction of the film that turner classic movies did in 2002.

I heard that a private collector found a copy but won't give it to anyone or some thing like that

That is so cool and I like your voice-over.

Lon Chaney's makeup for that movie scares the bejeezus out of me.

was the figure in the stop motion animation the london after midnight sideshow 12 inch figure?

I bought a Lon Chaney 8mm film reel recently, and it's got some footage I don't recognize on it. The footage is of a vampire bat turning into a person and a skeleton in a coffin that turns into a full bodied man. If anybody can help me figure out what this may be, it would be greatly appreciated!

I just got a custom t shirt of this movie from my uncle. I really hope this film is found because it looks really good.

loved the le fantome de l'opera joke! when u said it i fell for it ..... for 2 days!
Hehe, I knew it was a joke, but a very good one!!! Apparently sometime last year it was rumored that a complete copy of "London After Midnight" was found, but nothing has ever come from it. They did discover a complete version of Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" which the Criterion Collection is resorting and releasing. And since you are reviewing similar-type Phantom films, review "The Man Who Laughs" I know you mentioned it once in a review and I think there are enough similarities to include it.

I also heard the rumor and fell for it...for about 2 minutes. I still hold out hope it can be found. After all, they found a copy of previously lost film "The Passion of Joan of Arc" in a mental institution cupboard, of all places. I'm halway through "Man who laughs" and probably will review it
