Driving to the base of the Rio Grande Groge in Taos County ,NM

While on vacation in Taos County ,NM in August 2009 , I was invited to the old swimming hole at the bottom of the Rio Grande Gorge,affectionately named the River Gorge. I agreed ,giving no thought to just how we would make it from the top of the mountain to the bottom, silly gal. Down a narrow 2 lane gravel road , that was how. Did I mention I do not particularly like cliffs ? LOL
After my white knuckle adventure around and down the mountainside I was met with the most spectacular view of the gorge ,the mountains and the peopl having a blast !

Fear was all but forgotten.

BTW. When you come to visit, as you cross the bridge at the bottom turn Left for the hot springs that the guide books tell you about,remember it is clothing optional .
