From June 25, 2009 to June 27, 2009, we participated in the Train Mountain 2009 Triennial Meet. This is a small taste of what was happening there. Train Mountain is the largest live steam club in the world, with over 13.25 miles of mainline track (25 miles total, including sidings, yards and crossovers) and growing. Plans are made to expand the club by enormous proportions, possibly doubling or even tripling its current size. It was started by Quentin Breen, and is continuing to be one of the greatest live steam clubs in the world.

  • Do I dare ask how long it took to get all the trains out on the road?

  • Oh god, there was gridlock in Central Station and Grand Junction for HOURS! But I believe all trains got out...eventually...
