As a not stereotypically masculine guy, I do find "technical guy" topics such as sports and cars to be difficult to understand, and I'm fine with that. I hate gender roles and stereotypes, especially for men because that's what I know, and even though I am straight and cisgendered and all that "fun, privileged" stuff, I still find it hard to be male sometimes with all of this nonsense to deal with. I love my beard and my deep bass voice, but other than that, being a guy isn't the easiest.

Ashley, i so get this! You nailed it. As a transwoman we are at a disadvantage. The firs time i walked into a salon to get my hair done and the stylist asked me what i wanted...i had no clue. The woman looked at me as if i had been in a prison camp for 30 years. Her expression said, "You're 40-something and you don't know anything about your hair?" It would have been funny if it were not so scary.
