  • I think she should have stuck with country music. She sounds waaayy better than most of today's country singers they play on the radio. Rachel Sweet can put Taylor Swift to shame all day long.

  • @simwrangler I think country was Rachel's best genre too.

  • Great performance of a great song. Thanks for posting it!

  • Great memories.

  • @TheFpCassini you're right.my brain freeze or thirty years of cerebral cob-webs or something.didn't elvis write the song with george in mind?did they ever duet it?

(It was also a single.)

  • @dobbsiancant Actually, it's the other way around: Elvis, Rachel, then George.

Elvis originally recorded "Stranger in the House" in late '76 or early '77 with California country rock band Clover (aka The Shamrocks, with Huey Lewis- harmonica, and John McFee (Doobie Brothers)- pedal steel) for his debut lp, My Aim Is True [Stiff SEEZ 3]. It remained an unreleased outake until March '78, when it was the A-side of a bonus single [Radar SAM 83] included with the first 5,000 copies of...

  • george jones did it first.then rachel.and by elvis costello after that.

  • Great to hear this sweet piece of song again ! Love Rachel
