Yesterday I got to go back up on Aluminum Overcast... a B-17G. The weather was great and the flight was awesome. We took off from Riverside Airport at ~10:30 and arived at Woodring Airport in Enid at 11:20. On the way I checked out the view from every window, including the cockpit windows. Yep, got a little stick time, and the pilot signed it off in my log book to make it legit. WOO HOO!! A B-17 in my log! Ok, so it's not like I got rated (just maintained altitude and made a few shallow turns), but it was still great. Our event coordinator called ahead and reserved the back room at the nice little country style restaruant (Barnstormers), right on the field. I ate lunch with a small group of passengers and the crew and then a group of us drove back to Tulsa together. What a great time... a rare opportunity to ride in a vintage warbird and a good occasion to meet and get to know a few more local aviators.
Very nice, sir!
