also! don't take my word for it but is your seat high enough?
usually to get onto the roller i always have to use some stationary object
i'd recommend holding the handlebars closer to the center to maintain forward direction when you try to grip it with your other hand
love the roller, develops great balance and control
i think this will encourage better form than a trainer, which after my research led me to believe is more important for cadence, than form
