My previous attempts, using the TinyTot motors and gearheads, produced good running results, but the various small TinyTot motors just could not stand up to hours of continuous running. Several hours at 6 volts (with one motor) and 7.5 volts (with a 12v motor) caused the motors to burn out.
This version uses a more robust Mashima 10x12x15mm 12v motor (retail cost about $30) mated to the original TinyTot 5:1 gearhead.
(These are available from micro-loco-motion.com. Use the contact info there and send an email to inquire about buying one)
After multiple overnight and all-day continuous-running "torture" tests, the motor still held up, so this is the solution I stayed with: Mashima 10mmx12mmx15mm motor, with 1.5mm shaft ground down to 1.0mm and flatted to fit in the TinyTot gearhead. Gearhead is simply epoxied to the front of the motor.
I love PPW mashima motors. Too bad their so expensive.

@SP3751
Yes you can. They are VERY good motors. May even be better than the old Canon motors.
