In the description it suggests that a french lops life expectancy is four years, I don't think that's the case.. I had a french lop for 8 years and she was 2 when I got her.

That's so sweet :).
Hi Jessica, very pleased to hear they are not caged anymore, they make wonderful house pets. Just a few ideas - toilet roll inserts stuffed with hay, small cat balls that they can pick up and throw or the little rabbit toys you can buy for the same thing. Cardboard boxes or shoe boxes? Mine liked the bathroom wall paper and nothing could tear him away from it though. They are pretty stubborn little things! The hard sweetcorn chews have always been a favourite with all of mine x

This is very cute... and if your dog is like our dogs, the reason he is pawing at Lyla towards the end of the video is because he wants her to give him some "treats"! (Yes, for those of you out there who don't know, dogs love to eat bunny poops! I've never met a dog who doesn't. I know it's kind of gross, but I've seen dogs do grosser than that!) My dogs love our bunnies because they think they're cute little "Pez dispensers." :-) I'm sorry you lost your sweet Lyla. She was a beautiful bunny.

Hi thank you for your comment. Yes, Harry loves the 'treats' supplied by Lyla. He usually followed her around with his nose under her bum waiting, I hadn't realised his pawing was actually a reuqest for more! Thank you for explaining that! I have two more French lop boys now, they are only 11 weeks but my goodness don't their characters shine through quickly! I hope to put some videos of these two on here asap.

Thank you for your comment! It took around 8 months of training Harry (the dog) to get to the stage where I could 100% trust him around the rabbit. I just want to mention that in case some people think this is just natural. It is not hard to teach a dog to be careful around a rabbit but it does take time and a lot of patience. I too have seen the videos where the dogs are obviously not under control and scare or hurt the rabbits and it is a shame because it is not necessary!!!

My dog is the stocky breed of labrador and in this video he was actually a fine weight of 30kg. He also has had a total hip replacement in his back right leg due to hip dysplasia (replaced at just 1 year old) and has severe hip dysplasia in his back left leg which sorely limits the amount of exercise he can do and, being a typical lab, he sure does love his food! I do my absolute best to keep him as healthy as possible and most of all, as happy as possible.
