-Jazz's POV-
I started playing the song. And then It got to the part with the lyrics. I started singing. "I am confident, but I still have my moments. Baby that's just me. I'm not a super model, I still eat McDonald's. Baby that's just me. Well some may say I need to be afraid of losing everything. Because of where I had my start and where I made my name. Well everything's the same in the La La Land machine." [A/N-I know this is Demi Lovato's song La La Land] I finished the whole song and I couldn't even look up at him. I was blushing so bad. I couldn't believe I had just SUNG!
Joe: That was beautiful.
My head snapped up to stare at him. It was WHAT now? Why would he say that? He must be trying to make me feel better. God I can't believe I sang for him. I should have just let him make me the center of attention tomorrow. I'm going to be ANYWAY!
Joe: Really. It was.
He sounds so sincere. "Thanks." I said, still unsure. Then my cell phone rang, which was awful timing. I could have SWORN that he had just been about to lean over and kiss me, but I knew that if someone was calling me it was serious. I sighed and grabbed the phone. It was Regina. Oh god. "Hello?"
Regina: *sounding hysterical with terror*Jazz?
"Yeah. What's the matter?"
Regina: The most--- Oh god~ Jazz I-- We can't--- anymore
"Regina. Regina! Breathe!" ~Regina was my one of the few people in my last move that I had trusted. Her and her 2 sisters were really good friends with me. The older sister, Kat, had always been nice to me even though I was so much younger than her. And Regina's twin Aly was so funny too. She and Regina were fraternal twins... the looked almost nothing alike.
Regina: Jazz.... I need help!
"What do you mean?" ~By now, I'm standing and clutching my phone with both hands. I could tell I sounded scared because Joe was staring at me and Crystal came running down the stairs~
Regina: Parents---
I didn't need to know anything else. Poor Kat, Regina and Aly. Their parents were almost always drunk. [A/N- by the way... these 3 r people who signed up 2 b in my series. Their parents rnt rly like this. Just a story] "Regina, you can stop! There's a house up here that you can stay at. All 3 of you if you need to. I swear I'll help you... but you need to get up here first."
Regina: Oh my gosh Jazz! Thank you so so so so much!!!! What's the address? Kat has a GPS we can find our way.
I told her the address and then she thanked me again and then hung up. I was on my feet when I hung up after her.
Joe: What happened?
"It's a long story... but short version.... My friends from my last place- Kat, Regina and Aly- have really abusive parents. Regina just called me and needed help. Something her parents did. I told her she could come up here and stay in the house my dad had bought."
Joe: That's nice of you.
"I had to do something. They are some of the few people that were actually nice to me last year. I don't know how long it will take them to get here. It only took me and my dad about an hour. What should we do until then?"
Joe: We could go upstairs and play guitar hero? Or stay down here and look at your music some more.
"How about guitar hero?" I stuck my tongue out at him.
Joe: Alright. Follow me. *He led me upstairs*
-End Jazz's POV-
-Regina's POV-
I hung up with Jazz and ran out of the closet. I shoved my mom out of the way to get to my room. I slammed the door shut and locked it. Kat and Aly were still in it. I gasped out the phone conversation as fast as possible. We all started running around throwing a bunch of belongings into bags. I gave Aly a leg up onto the window ledge. She jumped to the tree outside the window and started climbing down. I jumped out after her and then saw Kat jump next. It took us 3 trips to get all our bags into the back of Kat's car and then she peeled out of the driveway. I punched the address into the GPS and Kat started driving faster. About 10 minutes later, we were so far that the GPS said that it should have taken us 35 minutes to get there. "Kat... slow down please. I don't want the police to come. Because they would probably send us back there." I saw her shiver as she let up on the gas slowly. I watched the car slow from 60 to 35 miles per hour. Back to the speed limit. I turned to Aly. "Are you okay?"
Aly: *quietly* Yeah.
"You don't have to lie to us Aly. If you aren't, you can tell us. And we'll help. We both know how hard he can hit. It's not weakness for it to sting. I even have an ice pack if you want it."
Aly: *sniffles* Thanks. *takes the ice pack from me.
I wish I could go back and murder that freak. How dare he hurt us. We never did anything to him. Thank god I had called Jazz.
Kat: We'll be there in about 10 minutes.
"Good."
