This is the song Curly Toes from the album Songs in the Key of Z. This song has been swapped and passed down through the years by Outsider Music tape swapping enthusiast for years. Nothing is known about the song or the singer, which adds to the beauty of the mysterious Texan drawl of the lady in question.

The vintage clips of burlesque dancers in the video are Katalan, Jackie Gately, Unknown, Blaze Starr, Sally Rand, Jenny Lee, Virginia Ding Dong Bell, Amalia Aguilar, Betty Page and Yvonnne Marthay.

Edited by Mike Belgrave from the Outsider and Strange Muisc video podcast. Join the facebook group for more details.

  • who the hell is singing this? horrible

  • @bellasibella Please read the description of YouTube videos before posting questions. It is already mentioned that the singer is unknown. Also do not be so quick to pass judgement on a specialist genre of music you clearly have not even begun to have given a chance. And please do not look down your nose at other people when you can't even use the required capital letter to start your sentences with. This may be horrible but you are obviously narrow minded & illiterate. Good day madam.

  • @mikebelgrave Hey man, musical taste is highly subjective. Don't get all offended over one person's opinion. Besides, the song is an aquired taste- I personally can see why someone might not like it due to the nasal and slightly abrasive tambre of the singers voice. That said, it is totally okay that you enjoy the song, you obviously have unusual and eclectic tastes in music and that's cool, just don't expect everyone to agree with them.

  • @SuperUkuleleGirl To be honest I was just mucking about being a bit pompous due to reading a load of Sherlock Holmes stories and listening to Noel Coward. Bellasibella seemed to find it quite funny. I'm we'll duet on the ukuleles some time in the future.

  • @mikebelgrave That's quite alright, I am not immune to a bit of pompousity and high-horse/ soapbox theatrics- it can be quite fun if I'm in a nasty mood and feel like baiting my fellow 'tubers. Today I just happened to feel like being the hero :).

  • @mikebelgrave Also, by condemning @bellaiabella as 'illiterate' is pretty judgemental in it self don't you think?

  • @mikebelgrave Reading the description or not (and yes, I did) this hurts my ears Mike. No judgement passed on the genre of music, or the Texan drawl of the lady in question. Possibly the curling of the toes is brought on by Miss Texas hitting high notes similar to a cat in heat. Just saying~ Good day sir :)

  • i bet it's some hippie tripping on LSD in 60's

  • what the fuck is this? man it's fucking odd.....

  • I love this song and the album it's from is essential.
