Here my two boys and my daughter caught some green sunfish off one of the canyon trails here in Southern California. We used a miniature Coleman telescopic pen rod and reel combo. With such small eyelets it is difficult to cast with no extra weight, but catching fish is still quite doable.

  • Very Nice. Great to see a parent teaching the kids how to fish.

Thanks. Yes, we try to spend as much quality time as possible - while they still want our time! :)

  • Thank. Yes, my chidren aren't brutal to animals IMO - neither to lizard we catch nor to the fish we catch. Of course there are those that feel that fishing itself is brutal in which case I think we would have to agree to disagree. Sunfish are neat - the whole variety of species.
